Overview

The Right Floor,
Chosen in Your Own Home

Picking flooring from a website or a showroom under bright lights is a gamble. Colour, grain and sheen look completely different in your own rooms, next to your walls, furniture and daylight. That's why we bring samples to you.

We offer our own range of European oak flooring, and hold accounts with many suppliers, so we can source most flooring on request: solid, engineered, parquet and reclaimed. Because we fit what we supply, we only recommend products we're confident will perform in your home.

Supply and installation together means one team is responsible for the whole result. The flooring arrives at the right time, it's checked before fitting and there's no finger-pointing between a supplier and a fitter if something isn't right.

Why It Matters

The Cost of Choosing
the Wrong Floor

The wrong flooring choice is expensive to undo. Most problems come from buying before anyone has looked at the room it's going into.

Unsuitable for the subfloor

Some boards aren't suitable for concrete slabs, high moisture or underfloor heating. Discovering that after purchase means delays or a floor that fails.

Colour disappointment

A shade that looked perfect online can look orange, grey or flat in your home's light.

Ordering the wrong quantity

Under-ordering can leave you with a mismatched batch; over-ordering wastes money.

Poor-quality boards

Cheap flooring can have thin wear layers, inconsistent grading or poor milling that makes fitting and future sanding harder.

Common mistakes we see

  • Buying before the room has been surveyed
  • Choosing solid wood for underfloor heating without checking suitability
  • Judging colour from a screen
  • Splitting supply and fitting so no one owns the end result

In Detail

Flooring Options
We Can Supply

From classic oak planks to pattern floors, here's an overview of what we supply and where each works best.

Our own European oak range

Our own range of European oak flooring offers great quality at a good price. Ask to see samples at your visit.

Engineered oak

Stable, versatile and suitable for underfloor heating and kitchens. Available in a wide range of widths, grades and finishes.

Solid oak

A traditional choice that can be sanded many times. Ideal for living spaces and period homes with suitable subfloors.

Herringbone and chevron

Pattern floors in engineered or solid timber, for hallways, kitchens and living rooms that need real character.

Reclaimed timber

Reclaimed boards for older homes or for matching existing floors.

Grades and finishes

Grades range from clean, uniform boards to rustic boards with knots and character. Pre-finished boards arrive oiled or lacquered; unfinished boards can be finished on site to any colour.

Skirting boards

We also supply and install skirting boards so floors and edges are finished together.

Acclimatisation and delivery

Timber flooring should sit in the room it's going into before fitting so it adjusts to your home's temperature and humidity. We plan delivery so there's time for this, which reduces movement after installation.

Matching existing floors

When a new floor needs to sit next to an existing one, or replace part of it, we look for boards that match species, width, grade and colour, including reclaimed options for period homes.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the room of small items, ornaments and anything fragile.
  • Tell us at the survey about any furniture that needs moving so we can plan for it.
  • Let us know about pets, parking and access so the job runs smoothly.
  • If you're supplying materials, have them delivered in good time.
  • Plan where you'll live and walk while the room is out of use.

Looking after your floor

  • Put felt pads under chair and table legs to prevent scratches.
  • Use doormats at entrances to catch grit, the biggest cause of wear.
  • Wipe up spills promptly rather than letting them sit.
  • Clean with products suited to your floor's finish; we'll advise on the day.
  • Use rugs in the busiest routes to spread wear over time.
